I am a hard working college kid in Arizona that agreed to sell my car to a lady and her son. I met the woman to show her my car, they test drove the car and I had in detail pointed out every flaw int the car (which were minimal) and she and her son agreed that they wanted to purchase the car. I offered an "as is" price of $2000, at which time she began to ask what price I would want if I fixed the car and gave it to them in a week. I then explained to them that I did not have the money to fix the car nor the time at the immediate present due to work and school commitments the mother than proceed to offer me an extra $600 dollars to rebuild the car. We them made an agreement that she would give me $1600 cash up front to make the need repairs and that when the repairs were made she would then pay me the balance of $1000. I then in detail explained every repair needed and that it would take a week to a week and a half to Finish the stated repairs. At the end of one week I then phoned the son (co buyer) to tell them there was going to be a delay due to the lack of availability of the need parts. the son agreed and told me that there was no rush. I then told him that I hoped to have the car to him buy the end of then next weekend. I then finished the repairs and took it to a mechanic to put the finishing touches on the car due to my busy schedule. At this time the mother began to try to contact me because she has decided to change her mind and wants her money back. She has threatened to take me to small claims court, to go to my employers and have them garnish my pay. I would love to be able to just give this lady he money back, but the fact that she gave me the money in the effort to rebuild this car has left me vastly short of the total. Do I have any recourse in this matter, being that I have finished my obligation and this woman is continually harassing me for the money originally given to me.
