What is the name of your state? Texas
I am being sued by Wolf Abramson for the amount of 8500.00
I have a mortgage 4 years old, and am leasing one vehicle and owe on another in the amount of 15,000. I have next to nothing in my bank account and have a joint bank account with spouse. I own no land other than the house I have mortgaged. The attorney contracted to sue me lives approximately 4 hours away. The court is to be held apprx 10 miles from my home. Do these attorneys come all this way and is it worth their time? The initial balance was apprx 4,000 and has now balooned into the amount mentioned above, I will negotiate for 1,000 and no more (reasonable?) I placed a cease and desist order with Wolf what would happen if I would call them and obtain information regarding this account, does this void the cease and desist letter. I am going to send a letter of validation but who do I send it to Wolf or the Houston attorney (which one will take longer to reply). If the cease and desist letter still applies should I give them my home number so they may call me and speak to me (as I document the conversation).

You're being sued, you are going to have to deal with the attorney handling the case. Doubtful you'll get a 25% settlement, they'l rarely go that low. Whether you agree with the fees or not, they are within the law -and your credit card agreement - to charge them.

At this point, validation isn't going to help you much. YOu need to file your Answer to the Complaint within the specified time or you're going to flat-out lose.

Walpoff Abramson

Yes Ladynred I have been served papers. I have twenty days to answer of which I will (how do I answer) do I type a paper stating I am resposible for the debt of which I understand this is a death sentence. Or what can I dispute. I know the fees are within the law just dont agree with them, WalpofAbra from what I understand is notorius for fileing alot of these. I understand they have appr 55,000 cases per month. Are the odds high that this attorney would show up in court. What is the recommened direction to take on this issue
