What is the name of your state (only U.S. lMy mother lives in a nursing home, she’s 58 and has MS, she’s been in the nursing home for around 4yrs, the costs are paid though the social services although private nursing home. The social services placed her in this home.

Her husband died last Yr aged 72, he lived in the matrimonial home along with my sister whom is 22yrs and has leaning difficulties.

The home was considered unfit for human habitation by social services and a fire hazard by the fire services. Her daughter was placed by social services into a housing project for vulnerable adults, although does not seem to be getting the social help (financially) that she requires.

The house is as it stands worthless with only a nominal value on the land (stand in a registered conservation area so only a direct replacement of the house can be built) which was valued by and estate agent 8mths ago at £150,000-00, with that said with the housing market and credit crunch who how knows!

My mother has no savings, only a reduced pension from her late husband and benefits with only around £800-00 in the bank.

The council obtained a charging order to add charges the property for their costs as they recon that my mother should be paying for her care (assessed somehow!).

These charges are around £36,000 per quarter!

What can I do, is this right, can I object?

Please, please help!
