I need to add my name to my elderly father's apartment reantal lease but do not know how to legally do it. The landlord is in the process of condo conversion & is not helping but to say that they won't allow it. Is there a legal way to do this - add a name? We've been tenants for over 30 years but I have never been named on the lease. I take care of my sick father & would hate to be evicted once he is no longer with us. Can anyone help? Thanks!

It's entirely up to the Landlord .

You could possibly be evicted , that's also entirely up to the landlord .

I've also heard two sides to that sorta predicament , where you either have to be evicted , or you could be charged with trespass if you don't leave , as you are not on the lease .
