What is the name of your state? Arizona
When my husband's father passed away on August 6, 2005, we were shown a will by his current wife. We have asked her for a copy of it but she will not respond to our requests, her oldest son is named as the executor of the estate. The will is not in probate.

Ask the son for a copy or hire your own attorney to get probate opened up on this so your attorney can ask the judge to ask whoever has the will to produce it for probate court.

How much time do you have to probate a will in Arizona? It has been five months January 6th. Thanks.

It's hard to know what is happening here, but she may be deliberately withholding the will from being probated for who knows what reason.
