What is the name of your state? Ohio

I've searched through the threads and am getting conflicting information. I understand that the SOL in Ohio can be either 6 or 15 years, depending on what constitutes a written contract. My question is concerning at what date this starts. I've see where it begins on the last activity date on a specific account (i.e date of last payment). Is this also true if the debt is sold to a different company? Basically I'm wondering if it starts with the last activity with the original creditor, or could it possibly start with the date that the account is sold to another company?

I would greatly appreciate any insight anybody could provide me.

Thanks,

-Dennis

Actually, it starts when the account first went delinquent and never got paid on again. AFter that it doesn't matter who buys it, that delinquency date won't change - unless you pay a collector.

The date an account is sold to a junk debt buyer or collection agency is irrelevent to the SOL.
