What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Massachusetts

I purchased a day planner at a flea market, when I got home I found 5 Common Stock share certificates tucked in one of the pockets. They are all from the same company from 1970's. My question is how do I find out if they have any value? And they are not in my name so are they usless to me if there is value?

The shares basically belong to the owner named on the shares.

You should contact the TRANSFER AGENT for that company. Call the company and ask for investor relations.

I am thinking there may be a way for you to claim this... but don't get your hopes up.
