I currently live in Az. Four and a half years ago I was living in San Diego. Me and my husband took a trip to Phoenix for a vacation. While on this trip I became very ill and had to be admitted to the hospital. Upon arriving at the hospital we gave them all of our insurance information and they even spoke with our insurance to make sure that it was okay to admit me out of state. We were in the Navy so we had 100% coverage on medical needs. They were told if it was emergant that the claim would be covered. I stayed 1 night in the hospital and went home to CA the next day. We recieved a bill from the hospital a few months later and told them they needed to submit a claim to TriCare our insurance. We never heard from them again...Now over 4 years later we attempted to purchase a home and on our report was this debt from the hospital totalling 3250.25. I have contacted the hospital and they as well as tricare agree that there was never a claim submitted for services..yet we were never even informed that this was even going to collections. Is this legal for them to try to hold us responsable for their oeversite in billing...they refuse to sumbit claim now because the 1 year statute for claims is now over...what can i do to get this off our credit and have this resloved...the hospital is not complying with my attempts to resolve this..they just keep asking for monthly payments...
