OLD Power of Attorney

What is the name of your state?I live in the state of Georgia. My husband is disabled physically and mentally due to a stroke and I have a Power of Attorney which is dated January 1992.

Is this POA still valid? If not, what do I have to do to fix this problem as I will need the POA to sell assets sometime in the near future?

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

POA is still valid, but if possible you need to see a probate attorney and get a will drafted if this man has any assets. After he dies, the POA expires and will do you no good as far as assets are concerned.

See an estate planning attorney regarding how to protect the assests from going through probate (i.e. JTROS or putting assests in trust). You can use your valid POA to do so.
