:)I'm from North Carolina.....I'm on SSI right and am going on Disability in less than a month.

I want to immigrate to British Columbia CA.

I plan on moving to Washington State and still be on Disability before I go for my Citizen Ship Status/Perminate Work Visa in CA.

help!

We only deal with US law - sorry. You need a Canadian law forum.

If you are so disabled as to qualify for SSDI, how do you expect to get a work permit from Canada? Could this be that you are planning on scamming the US SS system while working outside the view of the IRS and SSA?

no, I don't know why you would assume that?

I was almost paralized and couldn't wald for 4 months

I have just now gotten close to what I'd consider a full recovery

I plan on moving to WA State and getting a job that I can handel mentally and more important physically.

SO , I'D HAVE A JOB IN WA**************.....& I THINK IT'S 9 MONTHS YOU HAVE TO BE WORKING BEFORE YOU CAN GET OFF OF DISABILITY. IT'S LIKE A TRIAL PERIOD.

SO THE BOTTOM LINE IS , I'D BE OFF OF DISABILITY I'M ASSUMING BEFORE I GO AND TRY TO FIND A JOB IN CA AND GO FOR CITIZENSHIP THERE (PREMINATE RISIDENCE I HOPE)

ALSO, I THINK I WILL NEED A LAWYER. AND , I'M WONDERING HOW MUCH IT SHOULD COST. I'D EXPECT AROUND $600.

You need an attorney because you are misunderstanding some very important facts. Any immigration petition is going to cost well over $1000 US and that generally doesn't include attorney fees...and that's if you qualify at all.

Please don't spend any money before you sit down with an attorney and discuss your options.

You need to speak with an attorney familiar with Canadian immigration matters - there may be some in WA.

You also need to be aware that there are certain things which may make you inadmissible into Canada - this is by no means a complete list but you may need to pay particular attention to the Health and Financial reasons here:

CANADIAN GROUNDS OF INADMISSIBILITY

(This is an attorney website with whom I have no interest, connection or affiliation)
