My chapter 13 petition was filed on 1/31/04. I made my first payment to the trustee at the creditors meeting on 3/4/04. I am currently finished with my plan.

When was the reporting of negative info such as late payments supposed to stop on my credit report? I know the automatic stay starts on 1/31/04(no more collection calls) but did that also stop the reporting of negative information? Did the bankruptcy filing and payment activity now "wash over" any other negative info associated with the accounts i had in the bankruptcy?

Also i had 2 dept store accounts, one never used, the other with a good payment history and a zero balance since 7/2003 (no late payments). Also a car loan paid off in 1996 in full with no late payments. Would these contribute positively to my credit or would they not make much difference?

Yes, it should have. Reporting negative information has been deemed as 'collection activity' and therefore barred by the automatic stay and your discharge.

The should continue as positives. No reason they should suddenly turn negative because of the bankruptcy, although the credit card may have been closed by the creditor.
