What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

My pre-paid visa card was recently used to place wagers at an online casino. The transaction posted to my card as originating from Dubai. After disputing the transaction with my pre-paid card, I was told that they would decline my dispute and pretty much tough luck.

I know I am not covered under the Fair Credit Billing Act because this was not a credit card "open-end revolving account" but an account with funds pre-loaded onto it.

I would like to know though, can I sue under the Unlawful Internet Gambling Prohibation and Enforcement Act. Being that it is illegal for any financial institution to disperse funds to an online gambling site. I am not sure if a consumer can invoke that law?

Any help is appreciated, this was a lot of money lost, and I don't even gamble!

So who in your home used your card to gamble with?

I do not believe that anyone in my home used the card. I completely trust everyone that could have possibly have accessed. I just can't believe the pre-paid card company's response. The transaction shouldn't have even been processed in the first place. Wasn't the card company supposed to block internet gambling websites from processing transaction initiated by US card holders.
