What is the name of your state? MD

The online company WLI Reservation Rewards is charging my credit card account. I do not have an account with this site. I have never been to this site. I have read elsewhere that expedia is selling information to this company, however I've never purchased anything from expedia and definitely not with my emergency credit card. I haven't even used this card in almost a year. My question is, after I report this to the bank in the morning and finish disputing the items on my credit report, what further action can I take? This company has completely destroyed my credit in a matter of two months. I'm a full-time student and I can't exactly afford a lawyer right now, but I also don't want my credit report to be ruined because of something this sham of a company has done.

File a WRITTEN dispute with the credit card issuer and dispute the charges. They will investigate, and if appropriate, reverse the charges.

Well so far I've totally closed the account, contacted the bank, contacted the company who was less than helpful and threatened them with legal action, and I'm in the middle of filing the written disputes. Yay!

How have they completely destroyed your credit in 8 weeks? Their price is $10 per month according to the website.

I have seen this type of charge and it usually happens when buying something else at a legitimate Internet store and you don't see this service added on at checkout.

Love4kids,

Msiron is right--you may have purchased something online using this card and did not see the add-on.

Considering that this is a travel company--presuming so from its name--it probably is just as Msiron said. Such companies often offer "free trials" of their services when you order something online.

Even doing something as innocuous as signing up with Classmates.com can get you signed up with travel sites. This happened to me when I signed up with Classmates.com.

They were offering a "Free" $50 gas card if I signed up with them (paying their $49 sign-up fee). Unbeknownst to me, when I signed up, I was automatically signed up to receive a 30-day "free trial" with some travel Site. I was only "clued-in" a month later when I received a $72 charge on my credit card for services I did not buy.

I filed a complaint with my bank's fraud department, and called the number listed on the charge I found on my online bank statement. I threatened to sue the travel company for unauthorized charges to my account, and they refunded the money immediately.

Then, I closed my account with Classmates.com, simply because they were the ones who SUPPLIED this travel company wtih my financial info without my permission.

I guess the moral is, don't trust every networking site you meet on the Internet. Before giving anyone any money--or even providing personal informaiton--check out their privacy policies and, if they share your info with anyone, don't sign up with them. And, if they provide any "opt-out" options, TAKE THEM!

Good luck!
