I recently sent my info to http://www.badcreditloansources.biz in hopes of them finding a loan for me. The site says they charge 99.00 to search for a loan for you and if they are not able to find at least one lender for you the 99.00 is fully refundable. They sent a list of lenders who I applied with and then recieved denial letters from each of them for my requested loan. I followed all of the steps then to recieve my refund which was to write a letter requesting the refund and to send copies of the denial letters to the company to request a refund. After several days and my credit card was not refunded I emailed them and asked where it was. I recieved the simple response of " After 30 day review period. Probably this Friday." On Monday still no refund. I sent another email and they then told me I was never promised a refund. I have sent several emails afterward ; even one with a copy from their website that does promise a refund if they do not find a lender. Now they are simply ignoring me and there is not a phone number anywhere on there site to call them. Also the email they send after you have paid the 99.00 states that it is illegal to do a chargeback for the transaction. Is that true? And what can I do to get my money back from this company?
Thanks, ah7577

This site/person is based in Canada. Do a WHOIS lookup on www.whois.net and you can find the name, address, phone, email, of the registered owner of the website. It looks as though it is just an individual running this site.

Since he is based in Canada, there really isn't anythingthat you can do legally to get your money back.

NO, that is not true. You have every right to do a chargeback if you are unsatisfied with what you received. It sounds as if this guy is just trying to scam people out of money. He probably just has one list of a few lenders he found on the web and sends this out to everybody.

Contact your credit card company. You can sometimes do this online. Or you may have to fill out and mail a form to them. Tell them that you are not satisfied with what you received. If the guy running the website doesn't like, Tough... Let him try and sue you. He is in Canada and really can't do anything legally just like you really can't do anything legally on your side.

I was a "loan broker" for a couple of years back in the late '70s. My experience was that about 95% of the business was a scam. If you are enough of a risk that conventional lenders won't fill your needs, still try to stay away from these conmen. Most of just buy lists of "lenders", most of which are years old and cannot give you anything. The rest want exorbitant fees...especially upfront...to just process your "loan" without intending to give you any $$$$.

Contact your CC immediately and file for a chargeback.
