What is the name of your state? Texas

Allrighty, I have a problem with someone I know who posted an entire blog about me. Cruel things about me, my character, my person, my intellect, and so on. My family suggested at the time I discovered this (who hasn't googled themselves form time to time?) that I sue this person.
Unfortunately, I don't know what legal standards are being set in the blog world - beyond termination by your employer for discussing your job in a blog.
Does anyone know what's going on with the individual's First Amendment rights in a blog and what are my chances of actually getting somewhere with a libel suit over a public blog? I know what is in the text IS libel. I need to know if its worth trying to do something about this yet.

Thanks.
