Iowa - Not sure what forum to be in? I ordered pet meds from an online seller however when they faxed the prescription form to my local vet, they would not release it. They told me that their policy does not release to online pres sellers. Can I request a copy since the pres is not up yet and fax it myself? Do they have the right to not release a pres under my name if I so request it? Thanks for any input.

Not a lawyer so I can't answer if it is legal. Same thing happened to me with my vet. My vet told me that there are a number of problems with some of the big name vet med sites (i.e. they are not dispensing medications as prescribed and/or are using non-approved meds [not US made].) My vet had a list of sites that they say are shady and will not do business with.

Ask if your vet will price match with the online stores. Most of them will but only if you ask.

Also ask which sites they object to and why. Do they have any sites they do approve of?

Ask if there are alternatives to the meds they want to use; like humans, there are many manufactures and all have similar products.

If all that fails, find another vet.
