Hi all,

Does anyone know the legal requirements for starting an online publisher (mainly engineering journals) in Ontario?
Any suggestion on company type to register etc.?

What do you mean by "online publishing." That's a pretty big issue. If you intend to operate a business in Texas, there are certainly taxation issues as well as business licenses. Further, if you are a Canadian, there are certaily cross border issues with running a US business from there (or immigration issues if you plan to move to TX). With a publishing business, there's also likely copyright issues you need to concern yourself with. This is much more than we can possibly answer in a forum (especially given the vague question).

Actually, I want to compare TX to ON to see which is good for me. Do you know anything about TX or Federal requirements for US?
No, you don't want to "compare" the two. You're just trying to get an opinion about a totally unrelated jurisdiction that has no bearing on your matter.
