What is the name of your state?

I'm a student studying in new york. I was wondering what is the different between online degree and a regular degree?

#1. If your online degree is not from an accredited school then the degree is worthless
#2. If the accrediting agency isn't legit, then the degree is worthless
#3. If prospective employers find out that this is an online university, they may look less favorably upon your application. That's just a personal bias and the extent of bias will have a lot to do with the reputation of the school.

If it is an accredited university, your transcripts won't show any difference in online classes and on campus classes. Online classes require one to be motivated and have lots of self-discipline. Most universities offer many online classes. Out of about 170 hours, a good 45 I have were taken online. Online classes are usually a bit harder. These classes generally require much more writing, research and one has to teach themselves.

I completely agree with the above two posts.

Something else to consider:
If you are looking for a degree that is not offered at any nearby colleges, you can explain that to a potential employer. Just make sure it is a good, accredited school! In this type of situation, many employers wouldn't mind.
