I purchased $1500.00 worth of pageant clothes from a fellow pageant mom. She resides in CA. I paid for it by Paypal on Jan. 7th 2006. All email correspondance went well until she got her money. After that she said on 2 different occasions that she would ship out the clothing. I didn't receive it so I filed a claim with paypal. She gave me an excuse and I like to believe the best in people so I believed her. I received the package and dropped the claim (2 1/2 months later). In the meantime the only piece of clothing that wasn't included in the package was the sportswear. She said another pageant mom took it to try to sell it and she would get it from her and send it to me. I emailed her about it several times and got nowhere, so I requested the other ladies email address so I could follow up on it myself. I had great correspondance with her until I started asking for a tracking number. She said she shipped it out then it came back to her and then she reshipped it. I still have not seen it and now she won't return my emails. I also can't get Michelle(seller) to return my emails. I sent her an email yesterday 5/15 and told her that I wanted a refund for the amount of the sportswear. $300.00 and I wanted it deposited into my paypal account by Friday. Our daughters (all three of us, the seller , myself and the lady who has it) all have the same pageant coach. She is the one who told me what a great deal I was getting. I have the feeling that the money won't get deposited on Friday so what do I do next? I live in VA and she lives in CA. I have all of the emails from her stating that the sportswear wasn't in with the rest and that it was a part of the "lot" of clothing that I bought. I hate to be taken advantage of and $300 is alot of money to us. If anyone has any suggestions of what I can do next I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you

And don't you think $1500 is alot to spend on a bunch of fufu dresses and making your kids perform rather than spend time on homework and more educational stuff?

It would cost you a lot more than $300 to try to sue for you loss. Suck it up and eat the loss as an expensive lesson learned when it comes to buying things from folks you don't know on the internet.

I hate the fact that you waited so long, in trying to resolve this case, because ebay and paypal have claims deadlines. Have you requested her contact info.? Try and give her a call, maybe that will help. Also, phone paypal to explain the delay in filing the claim.

the MAXIMUM you would be able to recover is the cost of the sportswear.

So, spend approx. $1,00 for (2)roundtrip plane tickets, $250 in filing fees and costs, $750 in hotel expense plus sundry other expenses to recover a maximum of $100?

That is NOT a legal issue. It's a "STOP BUYING ON E-BAY" issue.
