i attended a very large poker run in pa. there were approx
7000 people there, all on an atv. as i arrived at the begining of the day, i was flagged by a security volunteer to go to a parking area about a half mile down the road. i unloaded my atv and drove up the highway to the starting point. seven hours later when i was returning to my van, again i was flagged to go this way, a state policeman gave me a $140.00 ticket for riding on the highway. as he was writing my ticket at least 40 other people on their atv's were driving by us. i don't understand how they can sponser such a large program and the police stand there and give out tickets to people for doing what they were told to do.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you

You must have looked, rode, or acted somewhat differently than the other riders. If your difference from most of them was legal, then you have a case. Police officers make quick decisions fast; they are trained to do this. Also, they always like to finish what they start. And if they have to go to court that's a treat for them for they do not have to be out on patrol; whether you win or lose it's no skin off their back...
