I am trying to find out if we could possibly have grounds for a lawsuit. I'm not sure if I am even in the correct forum for this, when in a final divorce decree, it is ordered that a party will pay as a part of the division of things, and shall indemnify and hold the other party and their property harmless from any failure to so discharge the items gevin to them, then they turn around and let the items go to foreclosure, and repossession, therefore destroying the credit of the party. Is it grounds to sue the person responsible for not paying for their property? I know that divorce decrees in themselves have no affect on credit reporting, but how can a person be ordered to pay for their things that were in both names, then just not pay for it and get away with ruining the other persons credit? Hope this isn't too confusing!
