What is the name of your state? TX

Hi,

My OPT has expired recently. Is there any way I can extend my work permit?

Thank you.

No, OPT cannot be extended beyond one year. Furthermore, now that it is expired, you are out of status after the 60 days grace period runs out and you cannot lawfully remain in the US.

Thank you for your immediate response.

In fact, I recently changed my status into F2, being a dependent of my husband who is still in F1 status.

I have two master's degree and I do not feel comfortable staying without doing anything when I can do so much thing. Is there any way that I can apply for working visa?

I appreciate your suggestion.

Thank you

No company has shown interest to hire me yet. Can I still apply for H1B myself?

Companies seem to be interested to hire me only if I have a work permit. Before I get H1B, I won't have work permit.

Thanks for your help.

NO, you cannot apply for a H-1B on your own. It is an employer-petitioned application on your behalf. Without a job offer from an actual employer and without that employer, you cannot do anything.
