What is the name of your state? South Carolina

I would like to know if it is possible to opt out of someone's will? If my mother has left me anything,do I have to accept it? What are the procedures I need to take to opt out of a will?

Thank you for any help! What is the name of your state?

Well, you can't force someone to not name you as a beneficiary in a will. When the time comes, you can write a disclaimer to the probate court giving up your rights to inherit under the terms of the will.

But, heck, why not accept the inheritance and donate it to charity?
