I am in San Antonio Texas (Bexar County) and the potential defandent lives in Wilson County next door. I found this statement on a Bexar County Small Claims info website.

"A Small Claims Court normally must be filed in the court of the precinct where the Defendant lives. Under some circumstances, you may have a choice of courts in which to bring a claim. For example, if the Defendant lives in one precinct but contracted to perform services in another precinct, either the precinct where the defendant lives or the precinct where the work was performed can be selected as the place to bring suit."

I performed a service (built a website) in Bexar county where I live. The JOP office (it's in a mobile home) for the precinct where the defandant lives is at the entrance to her neighborhood. If I file in her county I do not think I will get a fair hearing. WIlson County has a population of 33,000. Bexar County is over 1 million!

My question is can I file in Bexar county since that is were the service was performed?

If you did the work in Bexar County, sue in that venue.

Did the defendant come to your address in Bexar County to meet with you?
