I recently attempted to book a vacation package online through orbitz.com, but when I tried to submit my order an error message, provided by the website, stated that they were unable to place my order and asked me to call one of their agents. I called the agent stating what had occured online, and the agent proceeded to book another vacation package for me. I now see that I was charged by orbitz.com for 2 vacation packages, and when I called them they eventually told me that they admitted to an error on their part, but are not able to confirm whether or not I will be refunded the money. I have spoken to my credit card company, and they say there is nothing they can do as it was an online purchase, and encouraged me to seek legal advice. I just wanted to know what my options are at this point. Thanks.

I'd give ORBITZ another call.

If that doesn't work I'd contact the credit card company AGAIN. The line you were given is bullpoop. Online transactions are not off-limits for dispute. If you don't get satisfaction on the phone, when the bill comes, file an official dispute.
