What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
Michigan

I'm trying to clarify my understanding of the order of events that happens when a person is arrested for a DUI. I'd appreciate any help from people who know the legal process.

1) You are arrested under suspicion of DUI and taken into custody.
2) You are held at the police station until you are sober.
3) Upon posting bail, your are given an arraignment date.
4) At the arraignment, the charges will be formally read and you will enter a plea.
5 a) If you plead guilty or no contest, you will be given a date for sentencing.
b) If you plead not guilty, a date for trial will be set.

Are there any steps I'm missing? When in this process are you considered formally charged with committing a crime?
