Oregon: Our tenant has two telephone lines. She had the additional one installed for internet purposes. As a "phone customer" I have 'linebacker' protection in the event there are problems with my phone line. The tenant had problems with one line while the other one still worked.
Whose responsibility is phone wiring? Landlord or tenant? and if it is Landlord why do telephone customers who rent have 'linebacker' protection? The telephone service dept indicated it is the responsibility of the "customer". Please advise.
Also, if repair work is done, does the tenant have the right to deduct those charges from rent when repair wasn't authorized by the landlord? She has done this and indicates there were additional repair charges that she'll deduct from next month's rent. Please help.
