What is the name of your state? not germane to this post

I wanted to take a few moments to wish everyone a Merry Christmas ...

I am done thankfully, 4 days of celebration are finally over and I'm now reclined on my love seat, comfy in sweats, and ready to spend a mindless afternoon in laziness.

I hope everyone has been able to share time with loved ones and that its been a safe holiday for us all.

veg time ... later :)

We still have one more stop to go. We're going over to Punk and Peanuts dad's house. Dad and SM want to see our little one and we want to see theirs. Then they are staying with their dad and we're coming home and RELAXING!

Relax

I know that feeling ... Sat was celebrated with my brother's family who live 6 hrs away ... Sunday was at my daughter's godmother's (who got that distinction by being my surrogate mother in HS ... and who is also the sister in law of my dad's girlfriend) .... yesterday was Christmas Eve luncheon at my mom's then Christmas Even dinner with the rest of her family an hour away ... this morning was Santa here (yes, we inform the 15 yr old Piglet that if she chooses to dis Santa then he won't bring her anything LOL) then Christmas brunch at my dad's girlfriend's house with Daddy and my sister and my un-steps.

I have two gifts that have not been delivered ... one to my hubby's Sgt, who is also a good friend .... and one to a couple we go out with. I'll get them to their owner's at some point ... just not right now. I'm celebrated out other than the traditional afternoon spent with Piglet watching the Santa Clause movies.

I actually am going shopping early tomorrow ... there were a few decoration things I saw that I'd like ... and will like even better if I can get them 1/2 price ;)

We had to cancel our plans because my MIL has a stomach flu and neither of her daughters can be around her because they are both recovering from chemo, The weather is horrible so the kids are stuck in the house but they're having fun with their Christmas gifts.

She just called again, she's 85 and gets very frightened every time she gets sick because she has rarely been sick in her whole life and she lives alone where her nearest neighbor lives 3 miles away. I just sent my husband to go get her and bring her here if she wants to come and we'll take care of her. I don't know if that'll be better because we 6 grandkids running around the house but she won't be lonely.

I just got back from my mom's. Our main Christmas celebration is there every year. We have Shrimp and present opening at noon, and have prime rib with tons of side dishes at 3:30.

My 22 month old grandaughter was wiped out from the celebrating and napped for an hour after dinner, but woke up obviously cranky and still tired. I just put her to bed and she literally passed out.

My daughter is off celebrating some more with her boyfriend's family, and I am enjoying the quiet with a glass of Pinot Grigio. I have to work tommorrow :(. I really hate it when the Christmas Schedule works out that way. I like to have a day of downtime after Christmas.

Ooohhhh! My mouth is watering for the Shrimp! Growing up, we always had the traditional turkey, potatoes and noodles etc... This year, my family went to a restaurant -BBQ. Not my first choice or very homey... but it was fun. I have been wanting to start a new tradition at Christmas -- Shrimp sounds wonderful!

I too have to work tomorrow. Sometimes I think Christmas is one of those holidays they should move, and have on a Friday, every year!

Merry Christmas all!

Drama Drama in the air, I need a drop to drink

Well, I should have known that I would not get through a Christmas without drama ... my mom is going fruit loops and dragging me with her.

Peppier, I"m sorry your plans got nixed and I hope your MIL gets better soon ... stomach yuckys are never fun.

LD, glad things are going fairly well for your holiday ... I hope it continues :)
