What is the name of your state? Doesn't matter

Can anyone give me true examples of an OTH being the cause of a missed job oppertunity? Not saying they don't happen, just have never heard of it.

(Didn't hurt me...)

Also, I have done multiple background checks on myself over the past 12 months (since discharge) and never came back with a SINGLE thing...

OTH and your job.

Well I can tell you from first hand exp that my OTH never even one time caused me any lost job ops. I even worked for the TEXAS WORKFORCE Commision. I had to go school on my dime but never had an issue with financial aid. Hey dont disclose the info unless the application asks for it. Fed Aid & jobs will ask for yes or no service but not the type of discharge.

NOW every rule has an exeption.
1 dont put the prior service on your app.
2. dont show your copy of the DD214 that has the type of discharge....short cpoy.
3. dont work in an area that employs alot of ex-military...they are the ones who know what to look for on the DD214.

I am 34 and still have time to eat my words.

Try for an up-grade in 10 plus years of good productivity.

Upgrade

I was wondering how long I would wait...thanks for the info. I have about 24 more credits to finish up my BA, and then was planning on going for MBA. I was thinking that if I submitted copies of my diploma's along with my upgrade form, etc., showing that I'm not an a**hole (total) that may help.

Didn't count on waiting ten years however...lol

THINK ABOUT THIS: WHO IS THE LARGEST EMPLOYER: THE GOVERNMENT FROM LOCALE, STATE AND FEDERAL. DAH! SHORTY OUT!

Shorty Long is right....

Now that I think about it there were and are affects on the mind and the body and your spirit!

This part is not for iexcaped but for other readers looking to go AWOL and want advice.
The cost in hypertetion and enternal shame is also there. If you have any self worth do not seek out an OTH for short time satisfaction. It is always in the back of my mind!!!!!

You will get a fair hearing.

Up to 14 years and 364 days for the NDRB. You must try 2x with the NDRB after 15 yrs it is the Board of Corrections

I will speak frank.....they board could give a rats a*% about anyones education or how they made themselves a better person.
Public service for free**************.10-15 years of helping to make the USA a better place is the key to sucsess.
P.S. I mean vol at homeless shelters, soup kitchens, meals on wheels type stuff.
and yes they will call everyone to check if you really did what you said, so dont fake any thing if you go.

I have the utmost respect for the NDRB. They were 5 of the smartest lawyers I have ever seen and any one of them could be making 100k plus in the civilan world.
I hope this helps....do not take a knife to a gun fight.
They will do there homework on YOU and everyone else who applys to the Board.
