I LIVE IN THE STATE OF MASSACHUSETTS. IN 1995 MY HUSBAND AND I GOT MARRIED, WE ALSO GOT SEPARATED IN THAT SAME YEAR. WE STARTED DATING OTHER PEOPLE AND WE BOTH WENT ON WITH OUR LIVES. IN 1996 I GOT PREGNANT AND WANTED A DIVORCE BEFORE MY BABY WAS BORN, SO WE BOTH FLEW TO THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC AND GOT A DIVORCE THERE. I DO HAVE DIVORCE PAPERS. AM I REALLY DIVORCE HERE IN MASSACHUSETTS? WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO REGISTER MY DIVORCE. IT'S BEEN 4 1/2 YEARS KNOW. MY SON'S FATHER AND I ARE PLANNING ON GETTING MARRIED SOON, AND WE DON'T WANT TO FACE ANY PROBLEMS. CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE......

No need to yell. If your divorce does not meet the requirements of the state (child support, property division, debt assignment, etc., the state may not consider you divorced. My first wife and I were married in Washington state then we received a divorce in Mexico. I was in the Navy stationed in California at the time and the state of California would not honor the Mexican divorce. You need to discuss this with an attorney.
