My sister and boyfriend were heroin addicts. Boyfriend was sent to jail and did 3 years. She was/is in/out of jail/rehabs. My parents took their baby at birth and have raised her since then, now she is 4. Boyfriend gets out of jail and gets visitation. Soon after seeks shared custody (with grandparents) and gets it. They have been sharing custody (4 days on 4 days off) for about 6 months. Basically things are going well. He has a job and goes to AA meetings and seems to be doing ok. Question: he has said that he is planning a trip to India (to visit a girl), what if he plans on taking daughter with him? Is this allowed? Can my parents refuse to let him take her? How easy would it be for him to seek and get full custody? Do my parents have any hope to keep custody?
