What is the name of your state? CA

My younger brother attended an out-of-district high school and suffers from depression and some behavioral problems. He attended the school for it's honors program and remained to do well there. However, the school has had issues with his "special needs" (ie scheduling certain classes, etc) and inability to get along with a few teachers he had a year or two ago. They decided, based on an incident that occured a year ago, to kick him out of the district, giving us about 2 days notice.

I realize that most expulsions require some form of hearing with impartial individuals present to make the final decision. This was never told to me, even after speaking the to head of the district, I was denied any appeal or compromise. Does anyone know what the rights are with students out of district? Thanks in advance.

If he is under an inter-district transfer agreement, the school likely needs little reason to dismiss him. They allow him to attend as a courtesy, not because they have to.

If they choose to remove him without cause, then you might have to obtain a lawyer to fight it. If they uphold the suspension, then he's likely gone withotu any recourse if they choose to drop him.
