What is the name of your state? VA
Within the last 10 months, I have moved from NY to VA and left a debt of about $200 in NY. Recently a collection company has started calling me telling me this will not go away if I ignore thier calls, which I have been. They also said in the phone messages that they have been sending me paper correspondance which I have never received because I never left a forwarding address. What can they possibly do to collect this debt, I own my own house - no mortgage, I also own my own vehicle - no car payments so I can't see them putting a lien on my house or car. I am currently unemployed so they can't garnish my wages. Can they take it right out of my bank account without any authorization? I don't have enough in my bank account anyways or else I would pay them. Will they end up sueing me and taking me to court? Thank you for any response.
