What is the name of your state?CT.
It has been over 2yrs since I filed for workman's comp. I still have not had a payment. I'm on my second lawyer for this case. I have been forced to file bankrupcy. How can this be? Is there no time limit on this.

Presumably your WC claim was denied by the employer's WC insurance carrier and you have filed for a hearing with the State on the matter. Has the hearing been held yet? If so, what did the State rule? What does your attorney say?

Sounds all too familiar...

I fought W/C (L&I here in WA) for over 9 years before "settling", and once went a year and a half w/o any income from them. W/C (L&I) laws here in WA are set up to benefit L&I, not the injured worker.
Way it works: they suddenly stop sending monthly dis check w/o notice. You discover they did it illegally. You report it to the state. They instruct L&I to resume payments. L&I files an appeal...there is at least a year and one half waiting list to get into appeals court. So, for 1 1/2 years, I got no check. I won both appeals, but still lost a year and a half of income.
Hope this may shed insight into practices of L&I.
