hello,
my name is keith
until recently i worked a carrier/delivery as a independant contractor for a local newspaper.
i began 8-10-99 and quit/terminated 11-28-99.
my problem is this. from teh time i began until mid-october, i was given many more papers than for which i had customers. in sept this was doubly so. they kept telling me they would deduct it from my bill. i never saw or was given any credit, although my supervisor kept telling me it would be taken care of.
we have to pay for every paper on our bills.
in addition, i was never given a receipt for any supplies and believe i was overcharged for that in sept.
lastly, from teh time i began to present, there has been a problem with our advance pay customers(CPP) and i've never been given full credit for these customers' payments. when i contacted some of the customers they claim to have made payments. i also have my supervisor on tape as saying they 'lost' these payments due to a accounting software change in aug.
so my final bill is obscenely too high.
i've some experience pro se in family law(three years), but not too familiar with labor. how can i get a writ to stop collection and reporting to the company's bond holders? i'm broke and have no money to file.
i live in tarrant county. are there any agencies or local resourses to help me? there are many more people in the same boat with this nationally owned newspaper conglomerate. it's not that i want to sue. i just want to be paid fairly for my work.
i have never received or collected near what i was told i could make when i was hired(got that on tape too).
please help. i am desperate.
thanks,
keith
