What is the name of your state? Puerto Rico

I was on an LTD for 2 years back in 1997. I received SS benefits as a result of this. I then returned to work for the same company and later on retired in 2004 (with 25 yrs of service) and I am getting a retirement pension check from them. Now, in 2008, I was just informed by my ex employer, that due to the SS benefit received back then (11 years ago!) I owe the company an overpayment of over $8,000.

It looks like someone dropped the ball back then and they want me to pay for it now!
Is there a statute of limitation or something like that here? Am I responsible for this? And will my pension be affected in any way?

Please responde ASAP....I need to know!

Thanks.

The answer to your questions depends on the terms of your LTD policy and also of your pension. Since we haven't read them, we really can't give you any more than a guess. You might want to run it all by an employment law attorney.

No, I can't even give you a guess. I'm not familiar with Puerto Rico statutes.
