My wife works at a company with 6 stores through out
Iowa. She has work there for 5.5 years now and just recently
they stopped paying overtime (time 1/2) all pay is just
striaght time only. Can this company do this legally and what
can she do if this isnt legal.

Whether it is legal or not depends on her job duties and whether she is exempt or non-exempt. If she is paid by the hour she is non-exempt and it is not legal. If she is paid on salary then it is probably legal. If she is exempt they are not required by law to pay her overtime at all.
