I have entered into a lease agreement on an option to buy. The lease if for 18 months and I am in the second month of it with the purchase being at the end of the lease.
I received a call from the homeowner stating that they had defaulted on their mortgage and the house is going into foreclosure. I do not have great credit and cannot get a mortgage myself until January 2002.
I would like to know if I am legally obligated to continue to pay rent on the home if I know I am going to asked to leave in the near future. I beleive I may have 4 to 6 months and will need to relocate unless something else happens.

Of course you am legally obligated to continue to pay rent on the home if you know you am going to asked to leave in the near future.

Did you think that, just because you have notice that you am going to be asked to leave in the near future, that this entitles you to live there for free until you are asked to leave?
