What is the name of your state? ky
Hi, I am on what is called sections 8 rental houseing and I am about to come into some land through my parents estate it will be put into my name. Will this effect my HUD rental program.. and if so could I have it put the land into my grand daughters name. I normally wouldn't do that, but I have had surgery and both my paretns died and I dont have any means of taking care of myself at this time and need the section 8 to help me right now. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

You're inheriting land, and all you care about is staying in the Sect. 8 program?!

Here, the powers that be drop a gift in your lap and all you wanna do is stay under the state's care. Time for a reality check. IMO, you are abusing the system, and I suspect you know it.

Why would you not sell off the property, take the cash from the sale and buy a modest home (or pay up the rent on a nicer place for the whole year) as opposed to resorting to underhanded real estate deals so you can continue to sponge off the state? Can't have your cake and eat it too, you know.

If the land is worth over 5,000 dollars it will in all likelyhood impact your section 8.

I am sitting here after reading this with tears in my eyes.. you have not a clue and maybe you shouldn't have answered if you didnt understand.or is it I didint explain it well enough. I will try once more.

I had surgery major surgery and i am unable to work at this time, both of my parents died within 7 months of each other and there isnt anyone who i can lean on. I have had the help of friends and some family members, but if i didnt have this place i dont know what i would do i cannot efford to rent 3-400 dollars place right now. I am planning on taking the money for the sale when i do sell the farm and buy me a house and pay full for it ..but the farm hasnt sold yet, actually it is just now getting to the point where it will be in my name. I wish it would sell tomorrow so I wouldnt have to do this. I had a very nice house i was renting and a very nice job, but i had to give both up for now. this has been a very big hardship on me. DO you think I get pleasure out of this crap, no I DONT. Sometimes life throws at you some curve balls and your stuck for the time being, it will not always be liek this i am sure, but until then i wanted to know if having that land in my name would makeme lose my section 8 because i dont have anyone else to live with.
