What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA
I signed a Pennsylvania Realtors Lease agreement with the Pet Addendum item #6 A. stating a $500.00 pet deposit, which states any part of the property fouled by the pet will be professionally cleaned and treated upon termination of the lease. This will include carpet cleaning, treatment of flea infestation and any other treatment as deemed necessary by landlord to return property to condition existed at start of lease. There are and have never been fleas in the house (my dog always treated with Frontline) and the carpet was never fouled by the dog. Landlord says that for health and liability reasons the carpet must be cleaned. This was never stated in the lease. He wants me to have the carpet cleaned and treated for fleas. I have pictures of the carpet (which landlord did not clean prior to move-in) and it is the same condition as was at start of lease. Does the PAR lease agreement state carpet must be cleaned and treated for fleas upon termination of lease?
