A pager is a receiver and does not give of any electo-magnetic energy. A breathylizer does not rely on radio waves to operate. So the pager could not have any bearing on what the breathylizer does. To test to see if anything gives off any electo-magnetic energy, suspend a flourescent light bulb with a non conductive string or twine. Scotch tape, nylon string or twine, masking tape or even fish line will not work, they all can conduct electricity. Take the device in question and rub the light bulb while the device is in operation. The sulfides used to coat the inside of the tube can be excited with as little as .01 milliwatt (crumpled cellophane gives off .1 milliwatt). If the items gives off any energy the sulfides can be made to give off light. You can light a flourescent light bulb just by shuffling your feet on a nylon carpet while holding the bulb. This works best of cold dry days, the less humidity in the air does not allow you body to dissipate the static charge naturally. Ever shock someone accidently?

I have heard of the microwave trick but I think I will pass. Another neat trick is to take flourescent lights outside during a lightning storm. Don't think it is too safe but a friend and I discovered light sabers long before Star Wars ever came out.
