I'll try to make this brief. I purchased an MR2 off the MR2 message board back on Nov 2nd 2004. I bought the car for 3000 and then paid him 300 more for delivering it to my door. He is located in Jackson MS. After the car had not been shipped for 2 weeks he said it had just gotten married and been on a honeymoon. He was going to ship it right on off. The next thing I know there was an accident a couple of days later where some lady side swiped 2 cars next to the MR2 and the one directly next to the MR2 bumped into the rear of it. He said he didn't see any damage except for perhaps a scratch but he was going to take it into the body shop to make sure everything was good to go. Long story short we were waiting on an adjuster to look at the car to give the go ahead to fix it and one never came. We waited 2 months. The guy at the body shop told me he didn't see any damage. I then told Denver that I was tired of waiting and just wanted to get the car. He says ok he'll pick the car up. A couple of weeks pass and then I try to get in touch with him and I can't. He's very hard to get in touch with. By late March or April now he goes to pick up the car and the guy that towed the car from the accident sceen has been holding the car the whole time. He wants 20 dollars a day for storage. Denver is mad and tries to find ways around it. We talk every week and he doesn't seem to make any headway. It's not May and I tell Denver I just need the car. Period! Back to the towing place he goes and the tow bill is over 3K. Denver won't pay that so the guy offers him 750 area. Denver says ok and doesn't go back until 3 weeks later and now it's nearly 1000. Denver is mad and again leaves without the car. It's late May now and I'm going on a trip to Houston. I told him I'd drive with a family member to houston and on the way back I"d pick the car up and that would save him the cost of shipping it to me. I'm basically giving him 300 towards getting the car out. Everything was set but when it came time for to do the deal he couldn't be reached. I was ticked and I has waisted time, gas, and hotel money. I sent him a letter stating I was tired to trying to contact him and that I wanted my money back or the car by June 27th. I haven't seen anything nor heard from him. I do have title to the car. I did get him to send me that. Do I have a legal case here and how do I go about getting the right lawyer? Can I sue him for the 3300+my expenses going out there to pick the car up and my lawyer fees? I'm sorry this was so long. Thanks for any and all help!
