I ordered a logo from an online company one month ago, and received three samples two weeks after placing the order. The promised turn around for the samples was 72 hours. The company promises “One-on-One Consultation” with the designer, but it does not follow through with this promise. They provided a small questionnaire for customers to fill out, but it does not ask nearly enough information to get a good idea what the logo should look like. The company does not communicate with customers in any way but email, and it takes personnel some time to answer. I’ve called the company on numerous occasions, only to be told that the person that I am calling for is not there. They also promise a “No Gimmick Guarantee,” and that they will never charge any more money after the order is processed. I received an email two days after placing my order asking for more money to submit the copyright. I received one round, of three samples, from the company on September 12th, 2006.
The samples were nothing like what I specified, and were of an amateur quality. Three separate times, I tried to email the contact person that had been specified to me initially, to express my opinion on the samples and to send in a hand drawing with specified font and color. I then tried to contact that person at the company, only to be told that they are no longer with the company. They never contacted me with this information. Last week, I received an email from the new project manager. It contained my email address along with numerous other clients. I know for a fact that this company has scammed atleast 15 other clients. All are requesting refunds for non-performance on their order. After sending an email to the company requesting a refund, that night I received 3 more samples. It has taken over a month to get as far as the samples that were promised within 72 hours.
I'm not sure how to go about getting a refund from this company, because I mistakenly paid with my debit card from my bank. I know that with a credit card there are steps that you can follow- but we are a 2 person company and we don't have a business credit card yet. I did check out the logo company online and everything checked out with them then, it has only been in the last week that their BBB rating has fallen to an "F" and there are numerous complaints online about them now. I guess I am asking, is there any way that I can legally get a refund on the money that I spent?
