i work in the kitchen of wi restaraunt- non union- for about 1.5 years. management regularly removes 2-4 hours (sometimes more)from our pay checks for breaks (paid bi-weekly), even if indicated on our time cards that a break was not taken. i have spoken with management several times and problem still occurs. i have some documentation of the difference in time card to paycheck, by copying my time card at the end of each pay period. Can i legally insist my employer pay me in back wages owed? And does the state of wi have an interest in my employer's mistreatment of its work staff? what organizations should i contact?
