I am in Cheyenne, Wyoming
I paid a woman - the friend of a friend, $2,300 in advance to create a website for me. She had me sign a contract, which included a "no cancellation" clause. I didn't think anything of it at the time - I didn't expect the friend of a friend to cheat me.
Well, several months have passed and she has done, at most, two hours worth of work on the site. She has indicated that she has "personal problems" and doing my site is so low on her list of priorities that it isn't even *on* her priorities list. She seems to expect me to wait for a year or two or even morem
She won't communicate with me. Refuses to give me weekly updates saying it's none of my business. I don't even know what the site will look like.
I've told her I want to cancel and request the refund of my money, she cites her "no cancellation" clause. I point out that no judge is going to let someone get paid and then not do any work. Of course I have the right to cancel.
Can someone here please confirm whether I am right or wrong. I want to take her to small claims court to get my money back.
