I attend a Prep/Boarding school(The Kiski School www.kiski.org) where I live on campus. Five days ago I was brushing my teeth when two "friends"came in. One squirted rubbing alcohol on my and the other lit my arm on fire. From this I have recieved 2nd degree burns over my entire left arm. I go to the hospital almost everyday for P.T. I was wondering if I had a civil case for medical expenses and pain and suffering(I chose not to have them arrested because they were my friends doing a practical joke, and they claim they didn't intend to harm me, but insyead to simply setmy arm on fire{yes i know it doesn't make perfect sense}) and if so how much is common for something that will leave major scarring but no long term disabilities. Also is the school liable since this hapened on campus.

Note: I'm contacting a lawyer but i want as much information as I can get.

I'm not a lawyer so I can't give you lawyer advice. But I will give you life advice. Those AREN'T your friends! Friends like that you don't need enemies. They should be behind bars and I'm surprised the school didn't press charges. Does the school even know about this? Was it reported?

The school is aware that this happened, but because I was "involved" they think that I should be punished equally(I suppose that my arm means nothing.) And I know they are not friends. Thanks for the advice though
