I am considering doing a class action lawsuit against Panasonic regarding their portable DVD player Model DVD-LS50. I have had this product's motor break twice in the period of eight months of owning it. The error code is H03. I have found SEVERAL others complaining about the same problem on Amazon, Ebay, etc.

I have asked for a refund but they won't do it. They just want to keep repairing it until my warranty runs out and I am left with a $350 hunk of junk.

How many people are required to do a class action lawsuit?

Thank you,
Kelly

Do you have a spare $100,000 or so laying around? First, you would have to sue the company yourself. Then you need to find how many others are suing for the exact same thing. Then you have to convince a federal court judge that there are sufficient numbers of folks suing to warrant all the cases being remanded to that federal court. To do this you will probably have to hire a large law firm to do all of your research. The biggest problem you will face if proving that you and all the others have been injured by this defective product, so far all you can claim is some inconvenience. That in itself will not be enough for a class action lawsuit.
