I live in Vancouver B.C, Canada.

I hope I posted this in right category. Anyways, my dad just received a letter from this pantyhose company demanding payment for pantyhose that they say my dad ordered. However, my dad doesn't speak or write English. So, I'm thinking how in the world can he do such a thing? According to the letter this is the 3rd notice. I do remember seeing letters like these a couple of weeks back but didn't pay any attention to them because I just thought it was junk. Then, today I actually took the time and read the mail. Now I'm stuck with this $24.05 balance for something my dad didn't even order. The letter states that if they do not receive payment in the next 14 days, they will pass my dad's delinquent account to their collection department for further action. I was just wondering, what should I do?

First, this IS teh wrong forum, as to apply a lemon law to something, you must first own it.

Second, what did the panythose company say when you called them to straighten things out by explaining what you just explained to us?

I am not an attorney but I would say to try and resolve it by contacting the pantyhose company first. If that doesnt work, and it goes to a collection agency. send them a letter stating that you "dispute the validity of the the debt".

If Im not mistaken, they must then provide proof that your dad, did in fact order the item(s) in question. If they can do so, pay em the 25 bucks.

Again, im no lawyer but just trying to help. I may be completely wrong on this.
