What is the name of your state? fl

My husband turned himself in to Fort Knox last Sunday. He called the week before this and was told they had his packet. Now that he is there, he is told that his papers are not there, and if they receive them by tomorrow, he will be home by Friday. If they don't get them he will be sent back to the unit he left from. He is not sure how long they will wait before sending him back, but he said it didn't sound like they would wait that long. Has this happened to anyone else? How can they say they have his packet, and then when he gets there, all of a sudden they don't? He said there are a couple of other guys there and they didn't have their papers either, but they found them. Hopefully they will find my husbands also. This really makes me mad, he is trying to do the right thing by turning himself in, and it seems that once again the army lies to get what they want. They should have known that his papers were not there. Now he is stuck without knowing what will happen if they can't find them. Everyone who calls the number to find out if packet is there should call 3 or 4 times to make sure their answers stay the same. Hope someone can help.

if you are national guard or reserve its going to take months before you are DFR''d, because they have to contact your NG or RSV unit, and your tradoc unit and get all the paper work together, it takes longer to get droped from rolls and it also takes longer to get outprocessed only by a few days though...DO NOT listen to shay-pari or whatever her name is...ask her how much military exp just cuz her hubby is in the military she has no idea wat its like ( my grandfather is a x-marine, doesnt mean I can speak on behalf of the marine corps. know what I mean) ..AWOL is just a scary word they pound into your head to make you think it is the worst thing in the world....you just dont show up for your job..people do it every day...they scare you with it, they tell you all the bad things that happen to you if you go AWOL...regardless if your are in training or already at your unit for years they pound it into your head, there are E-5's and up who think till this day if you go awol you go to jail, WRONG, you go awol, they realize the military is not for you and your home in a week or 2...when you go to ACAP they explain it to you, and have to kinda unwind what the military has told you.. all that ( AWOL WILL HAUNT YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!) the acap speaker tells you himself its a bunch of bull crap and its a scare tactic because without these scare tactics we would have no military....and acap is to let you know you can go on and continue with the rest of your life..get school grants and loans and get good jobs...even keep a few benifits ...you just cant work for the CIA or FBI ...and if u didnt like the military you wouldnt like CIA or FBIA anyways..well my story is posted so if any one has any questions about this, I had to stay 2 cycles at sill, so I seen perminent party, NG, RSV, over sea awolers movement missers...I seen it all so if you have any questions just let me know and I will be more then happy to help you guys...

my husband turned himself in to fort knox last sunday. monday i called and they said they had him. monday night he called home and told me they didn't have his paperwork, and if they didn't have it by wed. he would be there until next tuesday. he called the week before and they said they had his packet. i called fort knox today and they tried telling me he wasnt there. they hadn't processed him and never dropped his warrant. I finally convinced them he was actually there by giving them the phone number he was calling from. thank god for caller id. they then told me his paperwork was there, there was some sort of mixup on why he was never processed. the usual b.s. from them. they promised to deliver the paperwork downstairs to get him inprocessed right away. he called tonight and even though they have his paperwork they didn't process him in enough time and the earliest he will be home will be next tuesday. they screwed up and he is paying for it. maybe it doesn't pay to do the right thing and turn yourself in, they still screw you over every chance they get.
the army is famous for lying and not following through with what they say they will do. they will screw you over every chance they get. you have to be very careful with them. when you turn yourself in, make sure you have a contact on the outside who will place calls to them to make sure they are following proceedures. they still lie to us civillians, but my husband would never have been processed if i hadn't called for him. you are pretty helpless once you are in there. you have no choice but to listen to the b.s. they tell you. you need someone on the outside who can find out what is really going on in case they start jerking you around. which is what they are famous for. good luck!
