my husbands exwife has not talked to my step daughter in 3 yrs, she calls out of the blue and wants to talk to her again, can we deny her the right to talk to her, she abandoned her and pops in and out of her life what can we do?

Two questions:

1. What LEGAL problems is this situation causing, prompting you to write?

2. Why are YOU involved? Since you're the stepparent, you have no rights or say in this situation. Simply, the girl is not your daughter, and your interference between parent and child will not be tolerated by a court, should it get that far.
